That’s right, everybody, the wait is over! World in Fire is available now at Amazon.com! I told you the wait wouldn’t be as long for this one. ;-D You can go buy it right now (I suggest buying it from scpbooks.com instead of Amazon (you know how Amazon acts, and isn’t it better for your money to go to a smaller company than some big conglomerate?), but if you just can’t wait for it to be available there, I understand!)

From the back cover: Firefighter Alexandra Crawford’s world is about to ignite in more ways than one. After a particularly bad fire leaves Alex and another member of her team in the hospital, she finds herself entranced by Dr. Rachel Tom. She doesn’t plan to fall in love and doesn’t need the hassles of a new relationship, but she’s not the kind to let something so good slip through her fingers. But the relationship may be over before it begins. Alex soon realizes that the horrible blazes they’ve been fighting recently are too uniform to be anything but arson. And if she’s right, someone is setting fires for the express purpose of killing firefighters.

For reasons that should be apparent, this book is set in the same universe as On the Air, but it takes place about one to two years prior to that novel. In case you want to shelve my books in chronological order on your bookshelves. <g>

It was brought to my attention (although I noticed it before, just too late to change the final draft) that I screwed up with Riley’s timeline in The Martyr. So I thought, since it was brought to attention through feedback, that I should clarify it here. In The Martyr, it said Kenzie left 12 years ago and Riley almost immediately became a detective. That doesn’t work with the opening of Better Angels, where it showed Riley as a uniformed officer four years before the opening of the series.

The easiest way is to change Riley’s advance through the police department. She did not go straight to being a detective when Kenzie left. Maybe that’s just how Riley remembers it (oh, to label her as an unreliable narrator this late in the game <g>). She worked in uniform for a couple of years without a partner before she finally got her detective’s shield. I think that fixes the problems, but if not… well, just repeat to yourself it’s just a show story, and you should really just relax. <g>

And a public service announcement… this month is all about Bard appreciation over at the Academy. Hall of Fame, Feed the Bards, and an upcoming summer contest that goes live on July 18. So go and vote, and feed your favorite bards. You don’t have to send feedback to me, but there are a lot of great authors over there who deserve support and we never get enough feedback (never ever ever <g>). So go vote! The Bards will appreciate it, and it may kick their productivity into overdrive! You never know!

The fifth Riley Parra story, The Martyr, is available for download right now from my website! I know it was supposed to go up tomorrow, but I doubt anyone will complain about getting it a little earlier. <g>

While talking about Riley, I thought I would go ahead and check with the people. Currently, the Riley stories are available as PDFs. I haven’t had anyone contact me about changing that, or adding a different format, but if anyone out there knows of a different file type that would be easier to download, let me know. I’m not sure what kind of mobile readers people have, and I know even less about what kind of files each different version supports. So let me know if there’s something that would be better. The different styles will probably be offered in addition to PDF, not instead of.  You can leave a comment here, or contact me through the website to let me know.

But for now, go read and enjoy!

Sorry for the delays, my good people. I wish I could say I’ve spent the delay writing like crazy, and I kind of have, but not as much as I could have. I hope everyone had a happy fourth, whether you celebrated it as Independence Day or just a random summer Saturday.

I do have some writing news to report. Only Flame and Air was officially announced as my sixth novel with P.D. Publishing. And then, yesterday evening, Confused by Shadows was unofficially announced (to me) as the seventh novel. The contract still needs to be printed out and signed, but that’s just a technicality. It’s just a matter of time before it becomes official as well. Confused by Shadows is the third book in the Claire Lance series, following Tilting at Windmills and Only Flame and Air. And yes, unlike the Squire’s Isle stories, you DO need to read these in order. It’s an absolute must. <g>

So that’s it for the books I have waiting in the wings! Silence Out Loud needed some more work, so they shot it back to me for another go-through. I still have faith in it. I’m not giving up on that one without a fight! <g>

In non-publishing news, I have officially finished writing Season 1 of the Riley Parra stories! So rest assured there will be no delays in posting the last few episodes. In fact, there’s a small chance that the season finale will be posted well ahead of schedule.

When I finished writing the final episode, I felt… very sad. I didn’t want to leave Riley. So even if I’m not entirely sure when, there will be a Riley Parra Season 2. There will be a few differences, however. The important change is that there won’t be a month between “episodes.” I will get ahead with the writing, and I will be able to post them much faster than the first season. There will be other things, but I’ll mention them later when the second season is more than a hypothetical “sometime in the future” thing. <g>

My log-in session expired while I was writing this. I hate when that happens. But I am back again!

For now, I have a lot of edits to make for the bosses, and a lot of due dates creeping up slowly behind me. I’ll try not to be as quiet as I have been in the past. <g>
