Well, ladies and gentlemen, it seems that my novella Better Angels is a hit. According to my lovely webmistress, it has had over 4000 downloads since going live about two weeks ago. Even with duplicates, that’s pretty amazing. I hope everyone who has downloaded has enjoyed the story! The people who have sent me feedback have let me know that a second story in the series is very much want so I’m working on that as we speak. Well, as I type. It will be called No Use Crying, and it won’t be quite as lengthy as Better Angels. <g> Look for it soon!

Also, some very exciting news that I can’t quite tell you about yet. But trust me, it’s big. ;-)

Keep reading and downloading, folks! There will be more Riley Parra soon enough. :)

Hey, folks! I don’t usually announce new stories here, but I’m making an exception for a pretty unique story. It’s called Better Angels, and it’s available now as a download from my website.

It’s not my usual fare, although the basic “girl meets girl” element is definitely there. It’s close-but-not-quite novel-length, and I decided I would go ahead and offer it for free, online, as a thank you to all the fans who have waited so long for the arrival of my novel Gemini (it’s almost here, I promise this time! :D )

Better Angels: Detective Riley Parra is living a hard life, jumping from bed to bed and drinking to try and quiet the nightmares of the night she nearly died. The lovely Morgan put together  a brand-new look for the blog. I hope everyone enjoys it! The general background is the same, but this way it wastes a lot less space. So I deem it a winner! <g>

And for those of you being patient for Gemini, just a little while longer! PD Publishing has the last, finished, “nothing to change” PDF of the manuscript, so hopefully…! Breaking News! Just heard back from the ladies in charge… the final PDF is being reviewed, the back cover has been finalized, and Stephanie is putting the finishing touches on the cover. We are at zero hour, people! ~happy dance~

Yep, actual news! This morning I received the final preview PDF for Gemini! You know what that means: coming soon to an online retailer near you (or a bookstore. Ask your bookseller if they have PD Publishing books and, if not, why they don’t!). Hopefully it won’t be too much longer now. ~rubs hands together~ I can’t wait! Keep your eyes here for future updates, as well as something special my webmistress (the lovely Morgan) and I have put together to commemorate Gemini‘s release. Stay tuned!
